It is not
too late

Adult dogs can
still learn
better habits

Some adult dogs never received formal training. Others learned the basics as puppies but struggle when distractions, excitement or new environments are added.

Training is not about expecting your dog to become perfect. It is about teaching useful skills that make everyday life easier.

That may mean walking without pulling, waiting at the door, coming when called or settling when the household needs a quieter moment.

We look at what your dog already understands before deciding where training should begin.

  • Leave it
  • Recall

Basic
Manners
Level 2

Make familiar
skills more
reliable

Knowing a cue in a quiet room is different from responding when something interesting is happening nearby.

Adult Basic Manners Level 2 builds on the foundation developed in Level 1. The class introduces greater duration, distance and distraction so dogs can begin using familiar skills in more realistic situations.

Training may include:

  • Longer sit and down stays
  • Waiting with distractions
  • More reliable recall
  • Improved leash manners
  • Settling in unfamiliar environments
  • Stronger focus on the handler
  • Practicing around people and other dogs
  • Applying familiar skills in new situations

Dogs should have the necessary foundation before entering Level 2. Contact Buckaroos if you are unsure which level is right for your dog.

4 weeks | Wednesday 10:30-11:30 AM | $70

Choosing
where
to begin

The right
starting point
depends on the dog

Age alone does not determine which program your dog needs.

One adult dog may be completely new to training. Another may understand basic cues but struggle around distractions. Some dogs learn well in a group, while others need private attention before they are ready for that environment.

We consider:

  • Previous training
  • Current manners
  • Behavior around dogs and people
  • Confidence in unfamiliar places
  • Ability to focus in a group
  • The owner’s goals
  • Any safety concerns

If your dog is growling, snapping, biting or showing serious fear or reactivity, contact us for a behavior evaluation before enrolling in a group class. See our Dog Training Overview to compare all available programs.

Private
training
options

When a group class
is not the right fit

Private training gives us more time to focus on one dog, one owner and a specific set of goals.

Private lessons at 360 Dog Care cost $35 per lesson and may help with general manners, leash walking, recall, greetings, focus and household routines.

Private in-home training is also available
for special training needs:

  • One in-home lesson: $120
  • Five-lesson package: $300
  • Evaluation required
  • Standard service area within 50 miles of Pauls Valley
  • Travel beyond 50 miles: $0.25 per additional mile

Dogs dealing with aggression, biting or serious reactivity should begin with Behavior & Aggression Support rather than standard private obedience training.

Adult
Board
& Train

A more intensive
training option

Adult Board & Train is available for owners looking for a longer and more involved training program.

Your dog stays at Buckaroos and follows a structured routine that includes boarding, daily training, appropriate enrichment, activity, rest and individual attention.

Programs are available for:

  • 6 weeks: $1,750
  • 8 weeks: $2,000

Owner transfer lessons are included to help you understand the cues, routines and skills your dog learned during the stay.

Board & Train does not remove the owner from the training process. Continuing the structure at home is an important part of maintaining progress.

Enrollment is available by evaluation and reservation.

Training
together

Your dog should
listen outside the
classroom too

A dog may respond well during class and struggle again at home if the owner does not continue practicing.

That is why owner participation matters.

During training, you will learn how to:

  • Give clear cues
  • Reward the behavior you want
  • Practice without overwhelming the dog
  • Manage distractions
  • Use consistent household rules
  • Continue training between classes
  • Recognize when your dog needs more help

The goal is to build skills that remain useful after the class ends.
